Welcome to lazaneya's and sloome's game jam submission! Our game is a tiny creature battler where you go through fighting opponents, collecting and swapping new creatures on your team, with the ultimate goal of seeing how high of a round you can get to. But there's a twist! You must be quick on your turn or else face losing the game! Each round the time you have for your turn becomes less and less, so be quick! Below are the formatted rules and explanation of the game.
How To Play:
The goal of the game is to get to the highest round. Each round will consist of two parts:
- Battling the opponent
- Choosing a rewarded creature to swap onto your team (or skip doing so)
Battling the opponent:
Each of you have an egg you are trying to protect, with 3 creatures to fight to protect it. This is how every full turn of both sides will look like:
1. The opponent will choose a creature to go up to defend the next hit.
2. You choose your creature to go and attack, it will do its attack damage and then its special ability will go off
3. The opponent's creature takes damage. If the creature's health reaches 0:
- Its defense (representing its max health) will be lowered by 1,
- any remaining damage will be taken by the egg
- and the creature will be stunned for a turn (it will not be able to be chosen for combat to attack).
4. The enemy's defending creature steps down and the creature you chose for attack now stays to defend the hit of whatever creature the enemy chooses from its team.
5. Same as step 3 but for the player rather than the opponent.
6. The opponent's attack creature now stays up to defend, and steps 2-6 will repeat.
Get the egg to 0 health and you win and go to the rewards screen! Take too long on your turn or have the opponent get your egg to 0 health and you lose.
Rewards Screen:
The rewards screen is pretty simple. Right before you go you will see the enemy's egg crack and 3 creatures fly out with colorful auras (green = common, blue = rare, legendary = yellow). You can pick one of these creatures to swap for a current creature on your team. Then the loop continues and you are one round up!
NOTE:
On the next round, your attack modifiers on creatures will be reset but your defense modifiers will not.
